How do I talk to my AI Friend? Tap the mic and just speak naturally. When you pause, your Friend thinks for a moment and then answers out loud, then starts listening again. You can also type using the on-screen chat instead of talking. Both work. Does each character have its own voice? Yes. Each AI Friend speaks with its own distinct voice, and its tone can shift with the moment (warmer, more playful, more thoughtful). Its mouth moves in sync with what it's saying. How do I stop my AI Friend while it's talking? Tap the mic pill while it's speaking, which interrupts it so you can take your turn. It intentionally doesn't stop just because it hears sound, so background noise or its own voice can't cut it off. It says "Let me think about that…" and then answers. Is that a glitch? No, that's intentional. When an answer is taking a little longer than usual (for example on a slow connection), your Friend fills the silence with a brief thinking phrase and then gives the real answer. It's one reply, just with a natural pause-filler in front. What can I do with my AI Friend? (activities) Besides just talking, there are activities you pick from the menu. Some may show a "Soon" badge (not yet available on that character) or a small lock (member-only), and certain activities use the camera. Your Friend may occasionally suggest one in conversation with a small arrow pointing at the menu, which is intentional. Can I switch to a different character without starting over? Yes. Open the menu and choose Change Character. Your new AI Friend appears in the same session, no reload needed. Each character keeps its own memory of you. Can I take photos and videos? Can I share them? Yes. You can take photos and videos with your AI Friend in Photobooth and Roast, and Idea Lab makes a shareable picture card. There's a built-in editor (filters, crop, trim, text and emoji overlays), and a share sheet to post to X, Instagram, WhatsApp, SMS, Mail, or save to your phone's gallery. What is Call? Call is a lightweight, voice-only way to have a quick conversation with your AI Friend without the camera or the full AR experience. Instead of your Friend appearing in your room, you see a simple animated orb that listens while you speak, glows while it thinks, and pulses as it answers. It's for when you just want a fast answer or a short chat: nothing to load, no camera, opens in about a second, and the mic starts listening automatically so you can just speak. It shares the same memory as your regular sessions. Where do I find Call? Open the menu (☰) from anywhere, including the character-selection screen before you've started. Call has its own row in the main list directly under About Me, labelled Call with a "(voice only)" tag, and it also appears as a tile in the Talk section of the activities menu. Tap it to open; tap the ✕ (or pick anything else from the menu) to leave, and you'll return exactly where you were. How much Call time do I get? Call is measured in minutes. Every plan gets a daily amount of call time that refreshes each day, and members get a much larger one. While you're on a Call the screen shows how many minutes you have left today, and when it runs out your AI Friend lets you know. What you say during a Call also counts toward your regular daily conversation allowance. The Call orb never says "Listening…" That usually means microphone permission was declined. Re-enable it in your browser's site settings (iPhone: the "AA" / page-settings icon in Safari → Website Settings → Microphone → Allow), then reopen Call.
