Why won't my AI Friend say romantic or sexual things? THN is designed to be a fun, friendly, PG, 18+ experience: a friend to hang out with, not a romantic or dating product. Your AI Friend keeps things friendly and will politely decline romantic or sexual requests, clothing changes, and flirtation. This is by design and is the same on every plan. It's not a bug or a limitation of your account. Is this an "AI girlfriend"? No. THN is an AI Friend, built for fun and friendly conversation, not romance. It's intentionally not marketed or built as an AI girlfriend/boyfriend. Is it safe? What if someone's in crisis? THN has a public safety page describing the kinds of requests the AI Friend won't engage in. If a sensitive topic like self-harm comes up, the experience surfaces supportive crisis resources (such as 988 and Crisis Text Line). For safety information, refer to the resources on talkherenow.com. There's an "AI" label and it sometimes reminds me it's an AI. Why? That's intentional. An "AI" indicator is shown at all times, and periodically your AI Friend will acknowledge that it's an AI and how long you've been chatting. It's a transparency/compliance feature and expected behavior, not a glitch. A "take a break" message appeared. Why? After around three hours of continuous use, a gentle break reminder appears for everyone. It's an intentional well-being feature, not an error, and you can keep going after dismissing it. What languages does it support? 10 languages at launch: English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Russian, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese. How do I change the language? It auto-detects your phone/browser language, so you usually see your language from the first screen. You can switch anytime, including mid-conversation, from the Language row in the menu. The whole experience updates (the interface, your Friend's replies, and its voice) without needing a reload.
