Do I have to say my posts are ads? (Yes, use #ad)

Yes. Because you earn a commission, any post that carries your referral link is paid advertising and has to be labelled. Add #ad where people will actually see it: near the top of the caption, before the link, not buried at the end or hidden behind a "more" cut. This applies on every platform and every format, including stories and short-form video.

Key Points

  1. Put #ad at the start of the caption, not the end.
  2. Don't hide it in a comment, a hashtag block, or behind "see more".
  3. In video, say it out loud or put it on screen, because a caption-only disclosure can be missed.
  4. If a clip you shared from inside the app carries your link automatically, that post needs #ad too.
  5. If you're not sure whether a post needs it, add it anyway.

Helpful Notes

  • This is a legal requirement from the FTC, not a Talk Here Now preference.
  • Penalties currently run to $53,088 per undisclosed post, and enforcement actions name individual creators, not only the brand.
  • We may withhold or reverse commissions on undisclosed promotions, and remove creators who repeatedly don't disclose.
